Most of the restrictions we have found with Passport America were specific to a particular campground. Say it was only good for Monday through Thursday nights or could only use during October to February, etc. Just make sure when you find a PA campground that you want to stay at, that you read the entire ad for that particular campground.

Amd keep in mind that most parks set aside a certain amount of sites for discount. Some only have one, two, or three. Hopefully, you are one of those. Discounts normally do not apply during holidays and the busy season.

nifty: when you click on a campground, you will get to the restrictions. Each campground makes up their own restrictions....if any.

I'm going thru the same thing you are susan only just a month or two before you

Passport America was my choice, from advice and having a couple of drinks 'before' muddling thru all the websites! Actually the forum members posts/advice are easier to help you decide

Happy camper or whatever, is a duplicate of PA and actually has less CG's. Full-timing 'I' don't have a problem with some of the restrictions with PA which seem to revolve around the fact that the discount is sometimes only good during specific week days. Heck for 50%....I can sure plan my trip to be there for it.

Here's what I have 'signed up' for so far;
Passport America
Escapees
Good Sam- already was a member, at the time 10% looked great!
Good Sam - ERS
Good Sam extended warranty - dropped the policy
FMCA - cause I liked the emblem you get with it.

I'm actually leaning more towards seeking out the CG's that have monthly rates from 99.00 to 200.00 that the forum members talk about.

Good luck sorting it all out.

Another vote for Passport America. It has some blackouts and restrictions at times, but its still the best value for your dollar. We wouldn't be without it.

We are also PA members for the last 3 years. We use it to on our way south in the fall and on our way north in the spring.
Yes the restrictions make it quite an exercise to create our route.
I take out their catalogue, my hwy map, a note pad, a calendar, and some colored markers. I draw circles and arrows, underlining the restrictions, the days, the lengths of stay, etc. on whatever CG's are along our route. I often come up with a few choices, and call them from our truck as we are traveling.
It is quite a process, but it has taken us to some lovely places that we may not have visited otherwise.
Cheers

Joined Passport America this year and so far it has paid for itself.
Also have Good Sam, when we joined we got a coupon for 1 free night at a Good Sam campground. So the coupon inself paid for the membership.

Wooozaaaa. Okay. Right. Now! Tell me where those posts are!!! Does that include hookups???? Of any sort??

How in the world did I miss those!??

Rock! Do tell!

Oh, and to all: I was leaning towards PA also...glad to hear others agree. I won't be joining as many as rock....but I'll keep HC on the back burner I think.

I joined CampClub USA a few years back and have yet to use the membership. Granted it has a 50% discount, but the restrictions/campgrounds have yet to meet my needs.

I joined Passport America this year as one of their locations really fit my needs and for less than $50/annually, staying at one of their locations for 5 nights at a 50% discount more than paid for the membership. The particular place I stayed was not a campground or park - it was RV Sites in someones backyard - full hookup though, and with the PA discount - $12.50/night with no restrictions!

Please identify these campgrounds with only one site available for PA. I doubt that the PA rules would allow that.
