I will try to get you more information, but do a search for Indian Point. There is a company that has several resorts together. There is a small RV park, no amenities, next to 2 resorts with cabins. the cabins are either newer log or older lakeside era units, its all within easy strolling distance. They have access to the lake and a pool for all.
Here you go, check out the second one, Trails End

Cooper Creek RV park. Right on Lake Taneycomo, and very near all the "attractions". Nice rv park, with several cabins available. We've stayed there many times with our non-camping friends.

Check out ABC, they have some of the nicest "cabins" around and they also have everything else you could possibly want.

everyone mentioned the good places to stay - as far as great things to do - Ride the Ducks or take the commercial sail boat out of Table Rock Lake state park Marina and see beautiful TAble Rock LAke - the best reason to go to Branson - If money is no issue - rent a pontoon and take it out on the water - about $250 a day now
Also White Water, Dixie Land Stampede and Show Boat are all worth seeing
There are pages of shows to see - just pick what interests you the most

Re: the Indian Point RV park and cabins, run as fast as you can, unless they have done some major renovations, this place is a dump!!
I second the idea on riding the Ducks, not to be missed!! The drivers are hilarious, putting on their own show while you ride. Just watch out for the last hill run through the trees into the lake!! What fun!!

If it were me, and it's not of course, I would tell them to get a cabin at the ABC campground in Branson and we would meet them there. I would then continue on in my fifth wheel to Las Vegas and spend this time away from the in-laws. A trip with the in-laws (YUK)! I would explain my absence by telling the in-laws that my GPS navigation aid got us lost and we couldn't find our way to Branson.

Strange, my kids stay in one of they're resorts every year, and I generally stay a night or two, but haven't felt like I was in a dump. Which one in particular are you familiar with?
Because of the congestion, one should always choose a location that fits the itinerary when in the Branson area.
