Smile things will get better and one day in the not too distant future you will look back on this and hopefully smile.

Gee, that might top my family's legendary story of having 5 flat tires in one round-trip to the beach (I was too young to recall this?!).

Hope your next trip is uneventful.

As they say, a bad day camping is better than a good day at work. You will alway remember this trip. Have fun on your next one.

Thanks to all for the words of encouragement.

At the time it was all happening I wasn't a happy camper. Now it's pretty funny. It didn't dampen our desire to go camping. But I've made a change or two so that we're better prepared for problems.

I now have a diagnostic code reader stashed away in the truck. Not much I can do about the weather though.

I'll get the A/C worked out and the fuel gauge problem has given me the opportunity to possibly upgrade to a bigger fuel tank.

Picked up truck. 225 bucks for a loose screw and grease on my floor mats. Had to act happy truck was fixed for reasonable price. Dealership guy was nice but I didn't need a lecture on how important it is to keep connections tight."

Next time just be sure and tighten those connections

wow! what an adventure. I've been out on Pensacola Beach in a thunderstorm--something I never want to do again! Glad none of the kids were hurt. Hopefuly, you all will look back on this trip in years to come and laugh about all the stuff that went wrong.

What a baby.

Nothing at all about going swimming and seeing sharks?

No stepping on alligators on some swamp trail?

No walking uphill both ways on the beach trying to avoid killer tides?
