I bought one of these Dimplex electric wood stove heaters about 10 years ago at a Home Depot, for the house.

I then found it works awesome as a heater for the trailer. Did a week-long hunting trip in No. Maine in November and used this stove to heat the camper. Ran it all day and night. Kept the trailer at 80 degrees! They have thermostats in them too. You can pick it up and move it in and out of the trailer/house as needed. Very sturdy and never tipped over on me while in transit. Looks awesome too.

That is such a cool idea! It looks great and the supplemental heat would be great. The wife stays cold, I'd prbably have to stand outside and look in, LOL! Sitting in front of a fireplace is what my wife and I love to do, one that didn't give off heat would work great for summer. Read a good book, have a nice hot cup of coffee and just chat. Beats staring at the TV for an evening and you learn a lot more about each other. I wonder if I could get Lakeshore RV in West Michigan to install one for our new Mountaineer...hmmmm.

The very first RV I looked in when we began our search was one with a fireplace in it. I loved it. It does add to the ambience of the room even though it isn't a real fire. I gives you a real "den" feeling and gives off heat. Cozy. You are a good man to do this for your wife. And since when is making your spouse happy a bad thing?

Sip a brandy in front of that fire for me, will ya'?

Iris.

The great thing about the electric fireplace is you can run it without the heat.

OK guys - let's not be too hard on Dave - he is correct in that he is entitled to his opinion and he gave that without personally attacking the OP and we should respect his opinion even though we do not agree with it - enough said on that topic...

We enjoy ours and as the other poster said, we can run the fireplace part without the heat for the ambiance so for us - it's a near perfect fit
