For this weekend, Allegany, Letchworth, Stony Brook SP's are all sold out. Chenango Valley has dozens of sites available. Is there something about Chenango Valley that I should be concerned about?!?

I was there in 2001 - many sites were either 15Amp only or no utilities...

There is nothing wrong with CVSP, it's just in a bad location compared to Letchworth and Allegany. It lacks the scenery of those two, and who wants to visit Binghamton? Anyway, we go there at least yearly because it's close - we were just there over the Fourth. It has a nice swim area in the lake (concrete bottom), you can canoe/kayak on the lake, there are fish in there, the hikes around the 2 lakes are nice (plenty of wildlife, including beavers, on the smaller lake). There is a golf course in the park, too. The sites tend to be roomy and offer some privacy, except the older loop (Pine Knoll), which is also the electric loop. The other electric loop, which was nicer, was flooded a couple years ago and they don't plan to rebuild it. They are converting another loop to electric and are planning another new loop. All of the bathrooms are new or renovated. If you'd like any more specific info, feel free to PM me. BTW, if DW is into candles, the trip up the road to Windy Hill Candle Factory is worth it.

This is a little late to answer the OP's question but the Pine Bluff loop has 30A. The old loop with power was flooded in 2006 and the word from other campers is that they will not rebuild it because it is in flood plain.

We are currently at Chenango Valley SP.

Thanks for the information. We never did make it to Chenango, maybe next summer. Instead we went to Whetstone Gulf near Lowville. I would highly recommend it. The campgrounds were full but the rest of the park was nearly empty on a gorgeous summer weekend; definitely under-utilized. The whole Lowville area and north was great to explore.
