That is just fantastic. The rehab was the most work and pain I ever went through, but 5 years later it was worth every moment. Give her a hug for me and you guys get out there and go camping in a few weeks. Talk about therapy!

This news made my day, Mike! I am always amazed at the power of prayer. Please continue with progress reports. We are always interested in what's going on with our extended family.

A little update. DW Ginny was in the regular hospital for 4 days, including the day of surgery, and its located 100 mi from home, so myself and our two Shih-Tzu's (small dogs AKA the Girls) stayed in the Motor Home in the parking lot. On Saturday she was moved to the rehabilitation hospital about 20 more miles away, but this will save the insurance Co. money, and is what she needs, and we came home.
Its nice there, but there's not a phone at every bed, so on Sunday I drove the 240 mi round trip to give her a cell phone, were not use to being separated, in fact this is the longest we have ever been apart in 41 years, according to her anyway, my memory's not that good.
So now we talk several times a day, and this Sunday I plan to drive down to spend a few hrs with her.
It doesn't look like she will get to come home now until sometime next week.
And ill keep you posted.
Thanks for caring, Mike.

Mike, I'm not totally surprised Ginny is being being held over and I can only imagine how you are handling the separation after so many years. It is hard to watch your better half be in pain and recover from something like this. My DW was there for four of my eight surgeries, that was it. The worst part will be two weeks from now in rehab, so be prepared.

If Ginny is really having major issues now, I would get down there as soon as you can and park in the back of hospital lot. Seems like something else is going on? It can be very painful the next day. Your place should be by her side, fighting to get her the proper attention from the nurses.

Everyone please send some prayers to Cool Mike and his wife.

So, you ended up doing that solo trip after all. Weird, huh?

Hang in there! She'll be home soon. Maybe you'll forget this week? How nice that would be.

Mike and Ginny, you're on the road to healing now and it's the beginning of new memories and hopefully more mobility. The rehab is a necessary bridge to cross but ya'll can do this. There is a wonderful support group on the web for knee patients called on our feet-joint replacement. I'll be having both knees replaced within the next year so I won't be far behind ya.
P.S. Buy her chocolate!

Ginny got evaluated today by the physical therapist group and passed with flying colors. They asked if we have a two story house, and we do with 13 steps, so they made her go up and down 13 steps slowly.
So now she's aloud to walk around the building alone, with just a walker, and with no pain, its amazing, just 11 days after 2 years of knee pain.
We both think she will be released later this week, but may have some PT at a local place, but at least she will be home.
Should I warm up the Motor Home, and get out the maps? Just kidding.
Thanks for all the support, it must be true, married men dont do well with out there DW's around.
Chocolate it is. And Good Luck to you Pam.
Mike.

Thanks Mike. I can read between the lines and tell what a sense of relief you have after the good evaluation. I'm so happy for you and Ginny. I can't wait to be mobile and free of restrictions. I have a Travelscoot now to get me out and about but it's a stop gap, not a solution.
