I have had TJ for since he was 7 weeks old and he is now 6 mon old. He loves water. Because he put his paws in the water all the time he spilled his water so I decided to put his bowl in the sink and one in the shower where it is safe. Every nite I would have to dry out toys especially mice toys as he would put them in the water before he went to bed. NOw he likes to lay up on the counter and watch the water drip and if it isnt he will cry until we put the water on he will even paw at the tap. His dish is in the sink so the drip causes the water to move in the dish. He puts his head right under the drip, he puts his paw in the drip and then washes his paw he even drinks the drips as they come out. Eventually he gets in the sink beside the bowl and plays with the water. Finally he will go to sleep yes in the sink. The drip must soothe him to sleep. I have never had a cat that didi this before has anyone else?

Very cool Margie!
My Blanca loves water, will get in the shower after I get out and roll around... but I don't dare have her in there with it turned on... tried that once to bathe her and it wasn't fun for her or me. LOL She gets up on the bathroom sink and wants me to turn it on for a drink as well as some water slapping. She will sleep in the sink after I turn the water off but it can still be wet. She is pretty funny!

My son's kitty, Talena, was like that too. She liked to sit on the edge of the tub (inside the curtain) when he would shower. She also liked to be vacuumed. She was a strange cat!
Unfortunately she passed away in her sleep this past winter, with no apparent illness. She was only about 6 years old.

My cat, Jeffrey, is the same way. I solved the problem (since he is not allowed on counters) by getting an indoor fountain. This keeps him happy because the water is alway moving and the sound of a waterfall in the house is very soothing.

Mine likes frozen water.
She likes to watch ice cubes melt on the tile floor!
(she also wants to climb into the shower -- with the water on!)

Cats can not see still water very well so they slap the surface or bowl to make it ripple so they can get a drink without dousing their noses. They like moving water for drinking. never had one who liked water otherwise, tho.

Scruffy used to "paw" the water in his dish before drinking,, and I am pretty sure he was far sighted,, couldn't focus real close cause I saw him more than once stick his nose or face in a leftover dish on the floor.. Poor baby,,

I had a cat that would jump into the bathtub when someone was taking a bath if she could.
My current cat likes to drink from the water faucet - runing water is much colder than the water in the bowl. He will drink from the bowl, but then he dipd his paw in and licks off the water. He doesn't like baths or the shower. When it is warm in the house, he will lay in the sink bowl - maybe because the porcelain is cold.

I once had a cat that liked to swim in the lake. She didn't care much for the pool, however.
My most recent cat loved to drink from a dripping faucet in the tub. she would jump in the tub, and if the water wasn't running, she would cry and cry, so finally we had to put a dish of water in the bathroom, even though, she had a bowl of water by her food dish in the kitchen.
She was a really neat cat. She used to jump up on the bathroom sink every morning when I was getting ready for work, and cry to have her "hair combed". She wanted to be pretty, like every other girl. I miss her so much!

I have five indoor cats and they all love to play in the bathtub with the water coming out of the faucet. I turn it on slow and they like putting their paws in the water and try to catch it in their mouths! One cat, as soon as he hears running water is right at the sink.
