Looking at pictures of an 07 vs 08 rear bunk, it is obvious that Jayco made changes. I was told by my dealer that it was 4 inches larger in 08. I would be interested to get a measurement of the rear bunk door on an 07 to compare it to the door size on an 08.
The 07 tail lights are higher and the top of the bunk door is lower compared to the 08.
Here is the rear bunk of my 08 23B.

MRTjr,
Is your canopy a flat pitch one that is being described in previous reviews?

Yes, I have the flat pitch awning. The easy way to tell on the dealer lot is by measuring the length of the arms as mounted to the side of the RV. On the Flat Pitch the arms will be about 68 inches long. On the Steep Pitch they are only about 59 inches.
If you don't have a tape measure, I found that the flat pitch arms extend below the side marker lights. The steep pitch arms are much closer to being even with the side lights if not above.
Mine was built in Oct 2007 and came directly with the flat pitch from Jayco. I did not need the warranty fix.

Very interesting. I wonder if the actual bed sizes between the 07 and 08 are the same. Or if they made a late 2008 change.
I plan to pick mine up this weekend and measure.
A previous post indicated that the rear bed size was 57 inches wide which would be called a queen vs the front 60 inch queen.

The bed will be deeper than the door because of the extra little mattress.

OK. I finally got the facts. In my 2008 23B built in Oct 2007 the mattress dimensions are as follows:
Front Bunk - Large Mattress - 40 x 76
Front Bunk - Small Mattress - 19 x 76
for a total of 59 x 76
Rear Bunk - Large Mattress - 38 x 76
Rear Bunk - Small Mattress - 19 x 76
For a total of 57 x 76
These were the measured dimensions as well as the sizes stamped on the mattress labels from the factory.
So it is true that they are not the same size.
However, Neither is a Standard Queen ( 60 x 78 ) but they are also both bigger than a standard double bed ( 54 x 75 ).
Anyone with a pre-2008 or even an early build 2008 23B is free to share your mattress sizes to see if Jayco really ever did make the rear bunk larger.

We have a 2008 23B that we picked up the first of June. I am not sure of it's build date, but I remember the wife remarking about some date she saw not being too much before we picked it up. It is at my dad's farm where we keep it parked. I will try to get over there in the next day or two and measure or get sizes off of the labels as well as build date. I will then do my duty and report back.....
