How can we shorten our chains. I know if the hitch came off they would hot hold the tongue off the ground as they are too long. Crossing them is basically useless.

Any ideas?

Go to a true hardware store and get a chain repair link and connect two links that will leave the chain the correct length. The extra few links could be tied up if they hung down too much. Or you could go to most any welding/repair shop and get them shortened.

Hauls better 1/2, 3 kids, myself, and a 2003 ez go clays car.. It's now ready to spend the winter in the garage for more mods. More neon, strobe lights, alarm, a pa system, maintance, and whatever else that comes along. This golf cart does wheelies and travels thru 7 inches of mud when need be. Two honda eu2000i gens twinned to supply the electrical power. Latest addition an 04 Honda Goldwing. You can also get one of the bungee tie-down straps for each chain. Hook one end of the strap close to one end of the chain, weave the strap through the links in the chain, then hook the other end of the strap close to the other end of the chain. The chain will stay bunched and out of the way unless needed, at which time the bungee strap will stretch allowing the length of the chain to expand.
