DW and I were talking about goin back to the beach. We thought we would just get a room / condo/ Effiency what ever. Instead of draggin the TT all the way there. Then it hit us. Why? Why give up our comfy camper, Why give up being able to sit outside under the awning, and grill every night, and have breakfast outside every mornin. Why give up being right there on the beach, Just step out the door, and we were there. Why have to carry suitcases up flights of stairs. It's all right there in the TT. And then. The biggie. Why pay more money, for less convience. So When we go. the TT will follow right behind.
You know. Camping. Really spoils you. Much better than a motel, or anything else.

I love knowing that I am the only one that has ever slept in the bed that is in my RV.

It also has a very comfortable pillow top on it, and is only a couple of years old.

It is also nice to be able to wash up and change clothes before dinner or whatever. And if it rains, I have a raincoat. Hot? I have 3 Fantastic Fans, and A/C if I am in a campground.

I remember camping in the old days - BC - well Before having a refrigerator and how great it was to have a freezer and take along ice cream!

We just returned from a 1300 mile lap around Ark. We didn't use the TT, the first time in many years, but our logic was...we would be moving down the road everyday and seeing different places. It wasn't as fun, but I used 65G of diesel instead of 135. Yes, the cost of fuel was a consideration, but we knew we wanted to travel different roads everyday, instead of day hops, and some were dirt. We spent some of the nights in cabins in State Parks, so we did somewhat get the camping itch scratched. I've tried to stay with the policy of camping in the same place for 3 days minimum and not moving every day anymore.

We left our TT in Florida one year, and drove home in the spring and then back to Florida in the winter. Never again. We stayed at motels on the way home and back again, and hated it - always wondering, were the sheets, towels, cups, glasses or anything else clean? And as Terryallan said, carrying all the luggage in (and you know that something you really need will have been left in the car, so you have to get dressed and go back down for it). And if you have pets, you have to find the motels that allow pets, and then pay an extra $20 or so for them. Nope, the TT goes with us now.

I work at a resort on the beach and you would not believe how nasty most folks are. I told my wife that I would never stay where the public stays again.

Sure, we all know the advantages/conveniences/comforts of staying in your own little house (on wheels). It's a luxury that only a few can afford. We're very fortunate.
