Thank you all so much for the encouragement, support and the ribbing! I guess I was being a "wussy" Mom!

He really was in a lot of pain and discomfort when I 1st posted, but now he's walking around just fine. The cut has healed very well and
and looks good aside from the discoloration.

I will call the Dr tomorrow to confirm that he's okay to lake swim.

I have been getting things organized for the trip and may even extend it to a week instead of the original 4 days.

Again, I really appreciate ya'll making feel better about the trip and the injuries too.

It is good to realize that if love and peace can prevail on earth, and if we can teach our children to honor nature's gifts, the joys and beauties of the outdoors will be here forever.

Just back from a week of camping in Inks Lake in Burnet, Tx. We met a pup group there for the first time and they were wonderful and lots of fun!

Thank you all so much for not letting me cancel! What memories we have now! My son's toe did great and he really enjoyed himself. Of course, the second day there, my daughter didn't wear her water shoes and cut the bottom of her big toe! Sheesh! She had to wear socks with her water shoes, but she still got to swim and hunt for minnows.

Inks Lake (site 41-57) was so beautiful. We had a site with an awesome lakeside view. The sites are in a cove and the kids could easily get in and swim in shallow water or go deeper. One of the most impressive parks yet for us.

The kids and I even got to jet ski for the 1st time on one of the other family's water toys. What a blast! Of course, now my son keeps asking for one!

Don't sissy the kid. It's a broken toe, not a broken neck. I remember when I broke two fingers back in freshman football. (wow, I actually remember back that far) I probably did everything I shouldn't and loved it. My mom wanted to sissy me, (that's how moms are), but my dad stepped in and I'm glad to this day he did.

Don't cancel. Go have fun and let him be a kid. He'll know how far he can push himself, believe me.

A while back hubby Michael was on the roof of the TT and started to climb down the ladder. He went one way and the ladder went the other. He fractured a metatarsal on his right foot. The doctor wanted him to put a splint or cast on and refrain from driving for a month. No way! That meant no RVing, so he just was very careful and continued driving. The foot healed anyway and we had several great camping trips
