We moved to NW Arkansas in 2004 and are so amazed at the beauty in this area! We are in the Ozarks..lots of green hills. Being from California, of course we have so changed our first opinion of what Arkansas must be like!

We love the Arkansas State Parks. We've been to Queen Wilhelmina, Crater of the Diamonds and Petit Jean. Next March we'll be heading back to Petit Jean for our 3rd return trip! We can't wait, we're bring 3 other couples with us to introduce all of them to the area as well. We can't wait to explore some other areas of the state in the future.

Shhhhhhhhhh. Please don't tell anyone about Arkansas. We still go barefoot, dip snuff, use outhouses, our gene pool is shallow, and our family tree doesn't have but a few limbs, and yeah, we sometimes meet our spouses at family reunions. If too many people find out about us, we'll be overrun in these here hills. Missouri is a much better state to visit. Y'all Come!

I am a Arkansan transplanted in the mid-west and miss Arkansas really badly. We camped there over easter at Maumelle State Park outside of Little Rock and had a site right on the Arkanas river. I have travelled all over the state and love every part of it. From duck hunting in the Grand Praire, to floating the Buffalo river, to Hog games in Fayetteville and all points in between including Petit Jean. Hope to move back when I retire one of these days. Go Hogs!

We live in East Texas and love to head up to the Ozarks as soon as the temps start to head down, lol!
Queen Wilhelmina State Park, Degray Lake State Park, Lake Catherine State Park, Hot Springs National Park...all of these in the lower part of the State up to the North Central part...all beautiful scenery!
Arkansas has a lot to offer in the way of dispursing the old misconceptions!
The drives are very inspiring and go over into Oklahoma, also!
As long as you are camping, it really doesn't matter where, lol!
Just another day in Paradise!
