No one mentioned the heat index was 110 just a couple of day ago and 104 today. (Maybe that'll help keep 'em away and from finding out what we know who live here).

Spent a week around the Bull Shoals area a few years back. Itching to go back.. should be able to next year. I see myself spending my elder years in Northern Arkansas.

Some of the prettiest scenery anywhere. Too bad it gets so hot or I would choose it more often instead of Colorado/NM.

Darn, I've been saying for a long time that Arkansas is one of the "best kept secrets" and now you expose it. We plan on moving to NW Arkansas when our house here in MO sells. The hills and trees are just spectacular.

Come on up! Us here in Missouri will welcome you right in. Of course we have to, but we also want to!

The ozarks of Missouri are nice as well. However, they're too commercial for me. Especially around the lake area. It is CRAZY!

A bit of trivia, the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, has more "coastline" than the state of Florida. Cool huh?

MANY years ago, when I was a kid, we spent a week in "Devil's Den State Park", in one of the cabins there. It has been a wonderful memory for all these years. Do they still have the cabins? I'd love to camp there, but I remember a number of switchbacks down the mountain to get there. Is there an "RV friendly" entrance somewhere?

Yes,the cabins are still there. And, yes, you can avoid the tight curves going down into the park from Winslow, by going farther north to West Fork to come into the park. BTW, if it's been a few years since you were there, I-540 now eliminates the need for traveling old Hwy 71 and there are exits from both Winslow and West Fort for Devil's Den.

I would like to thank y'all for all the good words about my home state.
I do miss being there at times and still miss the people where a handshake still means it's a deal or hello my friend.
