Where else do you find students with the smarts to wear "hog hats"?

"I did not have a Hog Hat on, while sitting next to that woman, Miss Lewinsky.
I rest my case .... but I do like being in Arkansas too, and go Hogs! (that was for my kid who is student at the "UofA")

It's needed!
I remember camping at Beaver Lake when we lived there and still tent camped... hot as all get-out, flies, ticks, chiggers, snakes, and up all night with the noise of the carp spawning. Wouldn't have been so bad with an air-conditioned RV though.
I miss the folks from NWA, and I do miss the scenery... for a non-native, best experienced from an air-conditioned vehicle.
We always say we'll go back and visit, but I know the wife will never go back to live.

Like Oroville ain't hot? I was in Cal long enough to know that there are flies, ticks, snakes--but you are right, no CHIGGERS (itch, itch)
Also, NWA is nothing like it was, at least not between Fort Smith and Rogers, it is getting too much like between Modesto and Sacramento, but in a smaller way. Just give it another decade or two!

MountainMomma, I recall using 30 amp plug there. The campground has more than one distinct area, so be sure you've looked at all. My Camping With the Corps of Engineers book is somewhere "safe," so I can't find it to check.

Please don't sell the Ozarks too hard.
More than half the population in this country crowds itself into coastal counties along the Atlantic and Pacific. Just a few counties. Most of them can't find Arkansas, or Missouri, or Oklahoma on the map.
We think that's nice, they can't find us. A big part of why it is beautiful is that it is not crowded with people. If the area became as densely populated as New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, it wouldn't be so nice.

Tom, I think the Sioux, Cherokee, Kiowa, Deleware, Anasazi and others said something like that to each other. I'm afraid we're stuck with more and more people until the dogs get togethger and decide to kick us out. And they likely won't since they found scraps from the camp fire and a warm, dry place in the cave were better than what they'd been putting up with before First People arrived.

We lived in Springdale from 1971 to 1975 when Wal-Mart had just few stores and wasn’t a factor. Population was about 7,000. We went back a few months ago and the population was up to 75,000 and it wasn’t really AK anymore. J.B. Hunt, Sam Walton, and Don Tyson, Jr. Had all become billionaires and the area had blossomed with “new” people. We loved it in the early days and out of the cites, it is very beautiful with very nice down home people. Click link below to see some photos.

The growth in North West Arkansas is why I say come to Heber Springs Ar. look and you may stay,
Heber is still a small town about 7000 people, and we just got a big new hospital and college, plus the big lake and trout river of course. it is warmer than N.W.Arkansas in winter.
J.B. Hunt is from Heber, I shined his shoes in my dad's barber shop when i was a kid, and drove his only old truck when i was a kid and he was dirt poor .

Hey now! Don't start telling all these folks about AK too. Let 'em all move to AR, keep AK a secret.
