Crossing at Eagle Pass sometime either near the first of November or first of December. Heading for the west coast of Mexico, state of Michoacan.
Looking for anyone who is heading that way who want to team up. We're pretty flexible on date of departure.

Rocmoc,
I envy you folks that can get away for weeks/months at a time!
As for this working stiff I'm Gonna try to get out to El Golfo de Santa Clara, Sonora on Labor Day weekend to do some riding. If it's to hot we'll postpone until the end of September. Usually spend the the night at Cocopahs' Casino, Somerton, AZ., crossing @ San Luis Rio Colorado, MX. The free parking usually ends up costing me a couple of hundred bucks but it's good to be "humbled" once in a while.
As a backup looked into booking Campland on the Bay, San Diego that weekend (www.campland.com)
Rates for a beachfront site, $273.00 per day, if you want to go slumming a bayview site will set you back $194.25 per day, all sites have a three day minimum.
To my chagrin it was booked solid!
Have a safe trip everyone.
PS whats up the the spellcheck?

Boy, I know what you mean. Start October, these guys really know how to rub it in. Pictures of sunsets, shrimp dinners, margs, weekend trips to Maz and PV. I don't think I'll be able to take it . The shrimp dinners really get to me.

Moderator's note:
The spell checker is intermittent on both the RV.Net and Woodalls portal. I say "intermittent" because it hasn't failed for me in several days, but others are reporting issues. (I wonder if it is browsers related. I am using IE6.) To the best of my knowledge, the spell checker is working on the other 6 portals.

Great Idea for a thread;
Leaving Victoria BC mid to late October, leisurely crossing the US of A, routing depending on road and weather conditions, crossing at Eagle Pass TX and first few nights in Saltillo. Plan to head South East of Mexico City, hopefully to San Cristobal, then west to the Pacific and up to Zihuatanejo for 2 or 3 months. Home by April?

Best and fastest is to cross at Lukeville Az for Puerto Penasco. Don't bother with the vehicle permit ast it's not required for Sonora State. HOWEVER when going on to Guadalaraja, you will need to stop on Mex 2 (I think Kilometer 21 or something close) which is on your way anyway, for the vehicle documentation.

The fact that we can get away sooner only means we are a lot older! Your turn will come. I can remember when I used to envy others who were able to spend months on end in the Southwest and I always had to get back to work. Now it's my turn. Soon enough you will have the months on end, and we will be getting fitted for walkers!

The turnoff for Rocky Point is before the Mile 21 Migration Office so you don't need paperwork if you are only going that far.
