Another serious consideration is single axle v. tandem or triple.......in my experience, a single is far more susceptible to all causes of sway.....that said, my tandem CT-toTH is a dream to tow---axles are pretty far back---but it's balanced and loaded quite well.....my local dealer let me try WD/Sway on it last fall...Montreal to LA and back....virtually no difference than w/o it.......and I still don't use it.

FWIW: IF I were hauling a single axle, 13' or any size, at anywhere near GVW of either/both TV/TT, I doubt I'd travel without both WD/Sway.

If you are trying to decide between an Equal-i-zer hitch and a Dual Cam, keep in mind that the Dual Cam needs at least 400lbs of tongue weight to be effective while the Equal-i-zer will work with less. I have a feeling that your 13 foot trailer may not have enough tongue weight to use the Dual Cam and the Equal-i-zer would be an excellent choice. Neither one will help with backing a trailer up though.

We towed popups for 25 years with out a WDH. Because the TVs were enough to handel them. We also did not use sway control. Because the trailers were balanced right.
Popups are a whole different ball of wax because of their low profile. Wind can create havoc with full-height trailers. We didn't have - or need - a WD hitch or sway control with our PUP either, but we sure have with our trailers!!

I also towed full height 16' cargo trailers with the Ranger. Did not need a WDH or sway control for them either. As I say. It all depends on the TV, trailer axle placement, and tongue weight. I now tow a 27' TT with the 150. I need and use a WDH. Don't really need a sway bar, but put it on anyway. And I don't believe a 13' trailer is going to be all that heavy.
A WDH is to distrabute weight thru out the TV and trailer. If there is only 100 or 200lbs. and the TV is a normal TV. (SUV, truck, full size van.) No WDH will be needed. Now if it is a minivan. It could be of use.

Thank you all for your information. My DH is ready to sell it and go hoteling....lol. The questions asked where: UVW weight of TT w/options 2740#, which includes the dry hitch weight of 362#. Single axle with 14"radial tires. It is a 2007 KZ Coyote Sport CS130. We are pulling it with a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder V6 4.0 266HP, 6000# towing. Whew....that's a lot of information for me to know. Believe it or not I LIKE THE SMALLER TRAILERS...too much to clean with the bigger ones..lol. The other reason we want something lite weight is so we can push it around like we did with our PUP (and yes we know it has to be on a hard surface). Our gut feeling was to go WD/SC and with the advise we have gotten from most of you, that's what we'll do. Better to be safe then sorry. I was hoping the WD/SC would make it easier to back up. We also want something that will be easy to use. We didn't need WD/SC on the first 2 PUP's but our 3rd one (which is for sale if anyone is interested) had some sway.

Okay, so it's a light trailer but you also have a fairly lightweight (and short) tow vehicle.

I think you can't go wrong with the weight distributing hitch. I would personally recommend the Equal-i-zer brand. It's easy to hitch and unhitch and you have no limits on tight turning.

The most important thing is to closely follow the installation instructions and make sure everything is adjusted correctly.

I think you'll be very pleased with your decision.
