Your Test came through....
Grampa Koot, take your trailer full of books to Flea markets and you might be greatly surprised.
Also, as you cruise along through city areas or towns, check the telephone yellow pages under used or antique books, you might get lucky and find a collector that might by your entire collection, including your trailer!!!!!!
What a deal....You could retire again1!!!!

Sorry Cap. I was struck by a very senior moment.
Of a majority of full-timers I've met in the last 6 years I believe reading and books was on top of most peoples lists. The problem as mentioned is getting the park or campground to allow such. Most state and federal parks don't allow it period and the ones who do require vendors permits and the costs and hoops you have to jump through are horrendous.
I agree with the Cap and maybe find a show circuit of sorts and flea markets. You could also have graphics made for your trailer with a website and phone number listed. Just some food for thought....

What a great idea. I'd buy some of your books for sure. I'm an avid reader and you can only take so many books in your rig and once they're read you need a way to get some new reading material. I also like the CD and DVD idea.
You could check out eBay as a place to find inexpensive CD's and DVD's and/or books. Maybe you could offer all three items. That way you'd have a variety of items for sale.

Late reply, but my observations, not my opinion or guesses.
I read a lot. Can read a popular novel a day if I want.
Most parks do not allow selling, period, and you would have to compete with a free service.
From observation, the number of readers in a park is pretty low.
In the flea markets that I've been in the booths with the books are usually empty.
I though public high school for many years and from experience the number of non-readers outnumbers the readers by a large amount.

KW5B:
I concur with your observations about not being able to sell anything in parks.
I pointed out earlier in this thread that books are really heavy, while DVD's and CD's are not. I think that music and movies will out sell books every time, to all age groups.
Where to sell? The Internet. If you can use a computer, you can do business on eBay, or any of the other selling sites. No state permits, no bricks and mortar building, no utilities. No need to find a flea market site every weekend.
Shipping is cheap, as the items are less than 6 ounces in weight, and small in actual size. Use padded shipping envelopes, and send by USPS, lowest cost. How do customers pay you ? Thru PayPay using their credit card. Once the payment is in your Pay Pal account, you ship to the address they supplied to you. Your computer can also print shipping labels, and invoices, and keep track of your inventory and bookeeping .
here to buy stock ? Again the internet has dozens of wholesalers who will sell you as many as you want to buy. Buying in bulk gets you the lowest unit prices, as low as $3 for music CD's and about $7 for movie DVD's. You can specify the type of music and movies that you buy, and in my experience the best sellers in movies are kids types and last year's top 10 movies. Music is harder to select but try for a cross section of styles and age groups. Don't make the mistake of buying what YOU like.
