I think you'll be fine. We did a VA to SD trip two autumns ago. We stayed at Palisades State Park and at the campground in the Badlands National Park. We also camped at Custer State Park, which was amazing. It was a lot of fun--make sure you spend some time in Wall!

Spare key!

Yup, that was what I wanted to post here. Give your son a spare key to the van... I learned that from a good friend. She always gives her traveling partner (hubby or friend or who ever she is camping with) the spare key to her car.

This way, no worries about being locked out.
