Planning my next years vacation. We are heading down to Myrtle Beach for the first time camping. Seeing they have multiple oceanfront campgrounds which are the best, cleanest and most enjoyable and which ones should I stay away from? Which sections or sites of the campground do you prefer over others? How tight are the campsites? Looking to head down in mid to late July is this a good time to go down?
I will be camping in a 33' double slide trailer.
Thanks

you didn't say what you are camping with, but ocean lakes, lakewood and pirateland are the 3 top ones if you want to be on the beach. all the sites are great. you can google all 3 and read more about them.

We liked Myrtle Beach Travel Park.
The one negative I've heard about the others is the over-abundance of golf carts running through the campground (but can't speak from personal experience).

I'm with A&K on this one. Was refered to MBTP many years ago by a friend. It's been on our October schedule ever since. Has both wooded and open sites. All are pretty good sized. Very friendly staff too.

Avoid the Inland section of Pirateland. Very crowded, they do not avoid putting in units that are too large for the site. I thought people might be exagerating about the golf cart problem, but it is beyond ridiculous. Plan carefully before you decide.

I guess different strokes, because I request the inland area of Pirateland, close to the pools, and lots of shade. I guess it can be a little tight though, definitely not a quick back in, especially with all those friggen golfcarts trying to go under your rig to get by.

I prefer Ocean Lakes. Biggest of the three and also all pull thru sites and you get to pick you specific site when you book.

My vote is for Myrtle Beach Travel Park. I like the north end of the strand better. Lots of shopping, theaters, golf and don't forget restaurants..

Myrtle Beach Travel Park gets our vote. We like it because it's a little quieter and smaller than the ones down south, plus we prefer the north end location. IMO the beach is better there, too.

IMOP all MB CGs are nice. All are pretty clean. All have paved road, Except MBTP, and Apache.
Now, if you want good a site for next July. Call now. You may already be too late for Ocean Lakes, and MBTP.
