Guys, my best friend wants to get started rving with us. He wants a 19'-21' TT with a slide that is light weight. I was thinking about the R-Vision Trail Light and was wanting your imput on some other brands. He has a new Toyota Tocoma with the V6 in it and wants something that it can handle. Can you all help me with some ideas. Thanks

In our experience, he's looking for a trailer that will be all his Tacoma can handle and then some. If he'd be willing to consider a shorter TT (or HTT), say up to 18', he'll probably be a lot happier with the package. Slides are heavy. Our (on paper) 21' HTT had a slide and weighed close to 5000# when loaded for camping; it was more than our V6 Explorer was happy with, and we ended up trading for a fullsize truck.

He saw a 19' trail light last year camping with us. It was being pulled by a Honda Ridgeline so i think the Toyota can handle it. I just want to know some other light weight brands. Thanks for a suggestions.

He should checkout some in the Shadow Cruiser (Cruiser RV) line. They have several that should be within his capacity.

If you run out of ideas you might try www.trailmanor.com. I think their heaviest unit is around 3500 lbs.

How many people will be sleeping in this trailer? If only two, a really small trailer can be a great option -- easy to tow and to store. See my tiny 14 footer in the signature pic -- it is a Shadow Cruiser Fun Finder. There are many similar models.

just because you see somebody else doing something, doesn't make it right/safe/smart.

also just because someone on the internet implies something isn't safe, doesn't mean it isn't safe...
Towing capacity and wheelbase are up to 6500lbs and 141" on the Tacoma and yet 21' and "close to 5000lbs loaded" is implied to be unsafe with no supporting information.
Which model Tacoma (2 or 4 door, 5' or 6' bed, towing package or not, low suspension or taller pre-runner/4x4 suspension)? How many passengers? How much stuff in the bed of the truck?
