We're new to the RV side of camping, but not new to camping; however, camping with a TT is different than with a tent. I've never paid attention to the RV sites.
Since we're buying a TT at the end of this month, it has got me to thinking about must-see RV campgrounds in this lovely Province.
Where are your favourites and what do you recommend?

Check this thread from last summer regarding favourite parks in BC.
Also check Canadian Campground Pics at the top of the RVing in Canada forum. Many of the pictured locations are in B.C.
There are many wonderful sites on the north end of the Island, especially if you seek quiet out-of-the-way spots. Buy a Vancouver Island Back Roads book and start exploring!

Rather than picking a good RV destination...pick the place you want to go.and do so.I can't think of town, city..oh..wait...there are a couple of spots you wouldn't want to get into but that required an amount of stubbornness and idiocy on my part, to do, so assuming you don't share my need to check every dirt road I see.....

It really does depend on what you are looking for, serviced or non serviced site and what the activities are at the campground, and, in the area.
As you know when tenting there are campgrounds that are more suitable to some tenters than others (eg. with or without children). Our children are grown now and left the nest. We changed our priorities.
The same goes when you are in a 5er, TT or MH.
We just returned from 2 weeks up island, Miracle Beach to Port McNeill. We did the full gamut (well almost, no boondocking), from PP at Miracle Beach to private campground (resort) to a mainly fishing focused campground near Port McNeill.
All we can say is enjoy yourself and safe RV'g.

Thanks for the replies.
We're looking to test out all the bells and whistles of our TT, so we were looking for a fully serviced campground. Found one that isn't full! holy cow. We hoped for Tofino, but apparently they are taking bookings for NEXT summer already.
Got us in at Pacific Playground. I hope it's good; I know it will be for the 2 year old. lol. Lots to do and an ocean to boot.

geeez, I wish you'd had said Tofino at the outset. Are you familiar with the drive in? If not...get ready for a sure fire test of your driving skills, trust that your family has in your skills, power in your vehicle and the brakes. That drive between Port Alberni and the junction...hhhoooowwhheeeeeeeee for a FNG.
Then you get to drive back!

haha, no, no Tofino this summer. They are all full.
DH is a professional driver, so I have no doubt about his abilities, thanks. 
Next year we'll have an upgraded TV, so we'll for SURE hit that road to Tofino. Just have to make sure we've upgraded early enough to get the reservation. lol. Sounds fun!

When I lived on Vancouver Island, I used this link. you can just find the area you are looking for and click on campgrounds.
We stayed almost everywhere. Places that we did or will go back to
Port Hardy: Quatse river - just a nice quiet place
Campbell River: Salmon Point, Ripple Rock.
Parksville: Paradise
Nanaimo: Rondalyn
we stayed in many, and checked out as many others as we could. In Tofino we stayed at Crystal Cove - didn't like it. Each has their own pros and cons so it will depend on what you want.
Good luck on the drive to Tofino - as mentioned before......it will be a true test of how well your vehicle and trailer work together. If they are not - you will find out. I have a friend that sold his Jimmy and bought a 3/4 ton the week after doing a trip to Tofino and back. Another vehicle in our convoy had the engine computer freak out on the 18% hill. Yes -its 140 km from Port Alberni to Tofino, and it will take at least 2 hours, even the locals will tell you that.
