I am trying to get out of a tent and into something a little more comfy. My research led me to this: http://www.trailertentsandfoldingcampers.co.uk/ or maybe this http://www.trailertent.com.au/index.htm

I never knew there was such a thing! And I think it would be perfect for what I want. They are cheap, they can be pulled with a small car, and some of them are hugh.

Another thing that is attractive to me is the technology seems to be simple. Tv and stoves (cookers) are things that I already have or at least understand. Not so many things to break or wear out.

Any one here have experience with these? Anyone know where I can get one?

I really like to look at the pictures of campers. The pictures on RV.net are interesting and I 've looked at nearly all of them. The pictures in the first link I gave are fascinating.

A number of members on this forum use these trailers. Is this what you had in mind?

I saw a tent trailer similar to the Conway 5-6 years back. The trailer top was hinged so it sat on the ground when open. That half of the camper was tall enough to stand in and the kitchen was right at the edge, so you could cook without kneeling. There were four or five arches that held the tent up. Very slick.

The livinlite campers are kind of there, but not quite. Did you see how large the Austrailian one was? Hugh and it comes out of such a small trailer.

I really wish I could find something like Conway; it would get me out of a tent.

Next time some asks what's a Conway, you can answer about 200 lbs. Ha ha lolrotflmao

But in the case of units where the tent actually ends up on the ground you might as well just purchase a tent and through it in the back of your vehicle. Wouldn't even have to pull a trailer. With most of those type units all the trailer is doing is storing/hauling a tent, that's why they're so light. Why bother?

Hi,

I have a Bunkhouse XL from B-F Specialties. It is a cool little trailer. There are a lot of ups and downs to these types of trailer. We towed our Bunkhouse with a PT Cruiser (1000 lbs towing capacity) the first couple of years and it was great. The type of trailer I have is designed to be towed by motorcycles, so they are really light weight. Mine is 325 lbs empty, and about 500-600 loaded. Send me a PM and we can chat more. Go to the 4th website listed above and you will see it, mine is blue.

Happy Camping,
Martha

And now for something completely different: Here's a "tin-tent."

With that car that's about as far as you can tow it, to the nearest parking lot. I prefer a little dirt where when I camp.
