And, do you camp with them? Skip and I belonged to our local club and enjoyed camping with them one time a month. My MIL also belongs. I am not sure how soon I can go back to camping with them, but MIL and I drove in last evening to have supper with them. Plus, home made ice cream.
It sure was hard to go with out Skip. I know he would want me to keep going. Just not sure soon I can go back. Maybe start in next spring?
Just wondered how many here belonged to their local club.
Ours has some of the sweetest people in it you could ever meet. They have been a rock for my MIL and I the last few weeks.

I have written to my state Good Sam's Rep. about finding out about a local club. They said they would contact me and I haven't heard anything in over 3 months. Camping season is growing shorty.

I, too, emailed local Good Sam Club chapter rep asking for information about joining. That's been several months ago, and still no word. Tells me it's not the kind of organization to which we want to belong--consequently, their lack of communication provided us with plenty of information--don't get involved in that chapter!

I belong to a local chapter and enjoy it very much. Sorry to hear about the lack of interest in the chapters everyone has contacted. I too had to contact two chapters before I found one that responded to me. The group I belong to is a Christian group and we camp once a month from April thru October. The rest of the year we meet at a members house for pot luck or at a restaurant. At campouts we have a pot luck dinner on Saturday evening and church service Sunday morning. Friday evening we usually go to a restaurant and eat togeather.

We belong to a local chapter plus some special chapters that meet only at the Samborees. Best way to join a chapter is to attend a state Samboree and get to know about the state organization. I just sent a individual the names and phone numbers of 2 chapter president in there area. I also tell them to let me know if they can't get a hold of them. Chapter members can be great support group in times of need. They have also donated time, hard work, and millions of dollars over the years to all kinds of organizations.

It really disappointes me to hear no response when some one asks for info on joining a Good Sam Club. Now maybe it's because Delaware is such a small state ; or maybe because I'm pretty active in my chapter and the State. Regardless, get on the web site for your state, or check with a dealer in your area, and SHOW UP. Best way is just JUMP IN.

Go to the Good Sam website and click on community and then chapters. Find your state and all of the chapters are listed. Most of the states list 30 or more chapters. If there is no chapter in your area, get together with your fellow RVers' and form a new chapter.

We just discussed this at our last meeting. We had more than one inquirer about joining our chapter that had no idea how to contact a group in there area and had call the state director and they had give them information on how to contact our group. We made several contacts and finally gave up didn't want to become a nuisance. I would encourage you to make another contact you never know what could have happened the contact person might have moved are something worse.

I am so sorry for those who have not had any response. Our chapter is a lot like the one above. Good hearted people. Try going to your state Samboree, even if you don't find a chapter you like, you will have a good time. The fellowship with hundreds of campers is just awesome.
I just got back from having lunch with my club. It was just to soon to try to take the 5th wheel, maybe by next month I will be ready. If not, they will be there when ever I am ready. The support I have received from my club has been so great. Don't know what I would do with out them.
