Someone posted here today what a wonder Murphy's Oil Soap is. I agree!

You're going to get a lot of answers and this question has been asked many many times and there are all kinds of varied answers. For me, I play it safe and use only RV Rubber Roof Cleaner and the RV Rubber Roof Conditioner purchased from almost any RV dealer, store, parts store, or Camping World.

I figure, it's designed FOR rubber roofs, so there must be the right combination of soap and chemicals to wash and protect the roof. The investment in my RV is too great to take chances using a product that will dry out the rubber and cause it to crack or flake apart.

But, there are other options. Others will chime in....

Half a hand full of Spic-N-Span in half a bucket of warm water. Scrub with a stiff brush. If you use a liquid dish soap like Dawn, dilute it before applying it to the roof or you'll have white stripes where you squirt the soap on.

I don't think many popups have rubber roofs.

You may find like I did that a lot of cleaners won't do a very good job. I now use 25% bleach with water - after removing my awning. Brush on with a gentle car cleaning brush and rinse off (well) without forcing any water past the roof seals.

OOPS! My mistake! Pop-up! yes. Had one for 6 years. Always washed it with Dawn Dishwashing liquid. I still use Dawn on the sides of my current TT.

Dawn is great! I worked at McDonald's many years ago. One night we ran out of soap to clean the floor. The boss told one of us to go to the next door grocery store and get a bottle of Dawn. Brought it back, washed the floor (All that grease .... yuck!). Took it right up. I was hooked on Dawn ever since. That was when Dawn first came out, many years go!

Yup! can't get any better than Dawn! ... now how about that rubber roof ????

What type of roof do you have? For my ABS roof, and the rest of my pop up, I use car wash soap.
