Nascardruzin--based on Forbes own standard for chooisng this person, they got it wrong;
"With a record breaking contract, total control over one of the nations premier _____ programs and a transdendant impact on the university."

That would be Coach K at Duke. Live time contract, hugely successful and when you think of Duke, you think of Coach K (will not try spelling his last name).

Sorry, that would be "life time" contract.

I totally disagree with Forbes. The Bama coaching job has the least job security of just about any school in the country. Probably the most secure Head Coaching job in the country is Pete Caroll's @ USC.
Saban was very successful at LSU with the load of talent left to him by Gerry Dinardo. He led the Tigers to a National Championship and did a pretty good recruiting job and left Les Miles in pretty good shape talent wise.
He's got a big contract and control but let him have another so-so year and watch those Fickle Bama Fans and Alumuni Assn. turn on him in a hurry. The only thing that will make those folks happy is to reincarnate Bear Bryant. They had Gene Stallings who even looked like the Bear, played for The Bear and won a National Championship. He said to hell with it the next year and retired. If Saban loses to Auburn this year there will be a strong fan movement to send him down the road.
Just one fan's observation from watching 50+yrs of SEC Football.

MCDDY.......I have to agree with much of what you say. Only time will tell. Saban's freshman class is ranked #1 nationally, so he had better win big in two years or he will be in trouble.................
