Crossing fee. Who knows if it will be for foot traffic or everyone. My bet it will be for everyone crossing the border in both directions.

Interesting it is only the Mexican border and does not include our friends to the North.

I used my fingers and toes; couldn't come up with 10 Mexican border states.........

Perhaps the news media left something out??

I'm sure it will be an improvement for crossers and not a pork pie.

If it would be used as they envision, great, but we all know it would be a pork barrel for the hogs to feed at and help balance the state budgets.

There are states on both sides of the border. 6 + 4 = 10.

Since this is a meeting of the 10 governors of the states on both sides of the US/Mexico border, I don't find it strange that the US/Canada border is not part of the story.

Normally, as a Canadian, I'd be upset if we were left out but in this case I'm glad we are forgotten. I'm sure our Canadian government will pick up on this cash cow if it goes through. In the typical Canadian fashion I'm sure GST will get tacked on as well!!!

O Canada - EH!!!

I think if you check out the typical wait times for re-entering at the US/MX border, compared with the US/CAN border, you can see why its not an issue.

Dave A:

I will email Harper and Dion and let them know they missed the boat!!! This could be a bigger cash cow than any carbon tax. Kind of like the head tax on Chinese laborers in the last century.
