"11 June 2007: With the latest Holland America ship addition, Carnival, which also operates the Princess, Cunard, and Costa cruise lines, has 17 new ships on order."

I'd take the BC Ferries/Alaska Marine Highway boats for a feel of the real country.

As you are rv'rs you might want to do the tour part on your own---you can rent a rig from Great Alakan Holidays in Anchorage----it will save you a bunch of money and really free up your time--not to mention what you'll save on food

cruise wise I've done both Princess and Royal----I prefer the Royal ships but would do Princes for the Glacier Bay experience (also a very nice ship)--we were able to get transfers from Whittier right to the Rv dealer--upon returning the rig the rv dealer took us to the airport

It's just that they already own rigs and why pay twice.

Agree with renting the RV. We cruised from Vancouver to Whittier this Spring, and rented a class c. Spent 2 1/2 weeks touring Alaska. Only way to do it.

Also agree that Princess is great. We were aboard the Coral Princess.

I've heard from more than one coworker that I"ve met at various conventions that they loved the Alaskan cruise and always wanted to spend more time in Vancouver. I happen to agree but I live here If you have the time there are some great places to see here too. Not that Alaska isn't' beautiful As well there are tons of Class C rentals to mosey around locally.
