Anyone have a favorite campground on the Outer Banks, NC? We have a 40ft motorhome, and will be heading to Outer Banks the end of September. The only information we have came from Trailer Life directory, and sometimes that info isn't too reliable.

If you want to stay north of Hatteras Island we have a new CG called the Refuge and it has a web, but I think the rates are wrong on it. It is south of Maneto and just before you get into Wanchese.

I tried to find "the refuge" campground that was mentioned earlier, but all I get is..yeah...wildlife refuge information. What is the full name of the new campground?

If you don't want to spend a small fortune on nightly camping fee's and still have ALL the amenities, then try Ocean Waves Campground about a half mile south of Camp-H and a quarter mile south of KOA, and Ocean Waves costs HALF what the other two charge. Reservations are hard to get, this place stays booked so call soon to see what they have open!!
