by washing the awning with warm water and professional strength soilex to get rid of mold and mildew from the winter??? I scrubbed it with a brush and then rinsed it thoroughly so it did not stay on for a long time. But, I noticed I had large and small circles/bubbling on various parts of the awning that I had not noticed before. Do you think the soilex did it? I had the awning open to dry on a hot day today but I do not think that would cause bubbling. The bubble areas seem to be very smooth versus the rest of the awning. Has anyone else experienced something like this? And if so, what may have caused it?
TIA, John S.

When it happened on mine it was called delamination of the material by the dealer. Mine was 3 years old and out of warranty but A&E replaced it plus the labor so I doubt it was caused by something you did.

I had only one on my A&E, about the size of a silver dollar. I slid a straight pin in sideways, being super careful not to push the pin through the top side of the awning. Made two small pin holes, took out bubble. One day, unrolled the awning and there it was. Be great if A&E would replace yours.

Mine is about 9 years old so I doubt that A&E will do anything for me but who knows?

Yes, there must be multiple layers of the vinyl fabric so delamination may be the correct term for the problem I am seeing. Hate to put pin holes in the awning... Any other suggestions?

I wonder if you can just replace the fabric/vinyl part of the awning and not the whole thing? Anyone have experience with this?

Not personal experience, but a friend just did this. Said it took about 2 hours. They called A&E with the numbers from their awning, and got a replacement fabric.

John:
If extend the awning all the way out, and roll the tube around, you should be able to find a label. It is usually closest to the right hand side. It will be a series of numbers say for instance 84816EG.001, something along those lines. That will tell dometic exactly what you have. 848 being the model, 16 being the length, and "eg" the color code. Like dhust said, it should take a couple of hours.
