Greetings!
We have just purchased a new TT after pop up camping for 20 yrs. Due to the upcoming football season, my DH has requested that we find some kind of dish/antennae/cable to make sure we get reception. We plan to camp as late into the fall as possible.
We cannot have a dish at our house due to trees, so that eliminates the idea of adding on to a current subscription. Our trailer comes with cable but have not found a campsite to accommodate us yet.
Does anyone know if there is a pay as you view program with a satellite or any other option?
Thank you

Now I know that this will bring all sorts of comments, but here goes...Find a friend, neighbor or family member that subscribes to Direct-TV that has the program package that you want to watch. Have them to get a receiver for an "extra" TV. Pay them the $5 or so rental fee plus what else you think it's worth. Put the receiver in your TT and you now have Direct-TV. Of course you will need the dish.
I know it works....Just don't ask how I know.

We had service for our mh, before the trip we would call DishNet to have it connected; have it disconnected after the trip. I believe there is an extra $5 charge, which is nothing to a sport's fanatic.
Good luck!

I love RV2Go's suggestion, but you could run into a problem if you camp far from home; once you leave the "spot beam" of your local area, you won't get network channels unless you have the RV exclusion filed and pay for out of area stations. Of course, if you can find some friends who have that sort of set up, then RV2Go's idea would work perfectly. If not, then you'd have to have your friends add the service (it's around $10/mo for DISH). The perfect solution would be to find a Direct subscriber with NFL Season Ticket and link onto their package. Might be easier to just stay in CG's with cable during football season; I'm surprised that you haven't found any yet.

yes, dish offers a pay as you go system. but unless you get locals where you camp, you won't be getting much football other than the NFL channel. don't know if ESPN is carrying any this year but that would work. if you get a RV waiver you could get LA/NY if you want to watch those network stations.

You might try a new didgital reciever, I was SUPRISED by the reception that I got on the digital side with the standard amplifer in my TT. The picture on standard Tele would be poor, switch over to same channel only digital, clearer than it was in my house WITH cable, this is in my driveway. I was skeptical of digital tv, but I am coming around to believing it may actually be an IMPROVMENT, although still not happy about having to get a converter.
BTW, you can apply online for a coupon for about $40 off a digital converter, prices of the converters are around $50 that I have seen, son only $10 out of pocket.
Just another LEGAL option to consider.

Get Direct TV for your stick house and when you camp take the receiver with you and get a extra dish and mount. We do it all the time.
