We are looking to move up to a Class A from a travel trailer. Can anyone give us advice/information about the following models:
Winnebago Vista
Forest River Georgetown
Four Winds Hurricane
Damon Challenger
So far we have only been able to see the Vista in person. We are going to the Hershey RV shpw next month and hopefully we can see some of the other models, but in the meantime I am looking for any and all info, that I can get. Thank you ahead of time for your help.

We've had our Georgetown for a year now and are very happy with it. Lots of RV for the money, and we've only had a very few minor problems.
We have relatives who bought a Challenger about the same time we bought our Georgetown, and they've also been very happy with it and had only a very few minor problems.

That's the best thing you can do, go to a RV show and look at them all. They all have fans. I have heard alot of positive feedback on the Hurricane and Winnebago has been in business forever. We had a Georgetown as our first MH and would never buy another, poor quality and no customer support. They may be better now though and some are very happy with them.

I don't know where in NJ you live, but you could check out Coachmen products....Overall, I've been happy with mine and the Mirada is a good value as is the Aurora....but there's good and bad in any lot...Mine had some issues, but they were handled....There is a Coachmen dealer very close NJ border right off of 22/78...Please PM me if you need any more information. There is also Camping World in Central Jersey....where you could go to look...again I don't know where in Jersey you are and would be happy to direct you to a dealer so you can look in peace...While the show has models around, looking in peace could be a problem.

We have a Coachmen, it is our very first RV and we love it. Yes it is an entry level and we are also entry level RV'ers.
Factory response to any questions have been great. Had a couple of minor things since delivery and the dealer took care of them right away. They were almost too small to take back to the dealer, but I decided to let them take care of them seeing that the dealer is local. I have often wondered what type of service people who purchase out of state get when they go to local dealers.
We use it at least once a month and the whole family always looks forward to going and doing in the motor home.
I think we looked at all the manufactures that you wrote about but ended up with the best $ deal all the way around on the Mirada.
Good luck, keep us posted as to your choice.

Are you buying a new unit? Personally, I would look for a used mh with an inverter, larger frig, etc.

We have a 2006 355 Challenger bought new in 2007. Spent winter in FL and now full timing in it. Love the floorplan and so far no major problems. Also I see some really good prices. I would say now is the time to buy with price being a big factor.

We are well pleased with our 2005 Georgetown which we purchased new. There have been NO repair issues that required a trip to the dealer, and upgrades we ordered direct from Forest River were promptly delivered and the parts department people were knowledgeable and courteous. Good luck in your search!

Maybe I can help you with a short list of "do's".
1. Do NOT buy a name to please others.
2. Find a floorplan that "WE" like.
3. Check and double check the CCC.
4. Enjoy the heck out of it.!
Add me to your list of 'Jersey' people and feel free to PM for anything I can help with.
