I'm heading to Pismo on Wed. 8/20. This will be my family's first trip, so I'd like to make sure I have at least a clue... I've seen threads about this before, but I can't seem to find them. Sorry if it is a repeat. If you know where those threads are, please post the link.
I remember reading that there is a dump right before you drive onto the beach, but I don't remember if there is potable water available at the same spot... is there? If not, then where?
Are there any restrictions on dogs?
I'll be towing my fsc2800 with my F350 4x4. When should I air down my tires and to what pressure? All tires, or just truck tires?
I've read about camping near poles and that you should go to xyz pole... Are these literal poles? Distance markers? What is the difference?
Any other tips/links that will make my first pismo trip more enjoyable?
Thanks!

Air down all tires, including trailer. Around 20 psi.
Poles are big and easy to see. Past pole 5 is where I go.
Dogs on leash is okay. (please pick up after them)
I don’t dump or get water there so can’t help on that one.

I cant remember if there is a water at the dump location, maybe someone else knows, I always bring my own water from home.
Are there any restrictions on dogs? They have to be on a leash at all times. (or at least when the ranger comes around)
I'll be towing my fsc2800 with my F350 4x4. When should I air down my tires and to what pressure? All tires, or just truck tires? Air done when you enter on the beach, I air done to 15-18psi on ALL tires, (including the trailer). When I am on the edge of the beach I am usually in 4hi, when I go to park on to the soft stuff Ill put in 4low.
I've read about camping near poles and that you should go to xyz pole... Are these literal poles? Distance markers? What is the difference? These are actual marking poles with numbers on them. Just make sure you park up high enough to stay out of the high tide.
Any other tips/links that will make my first pismo trip more enjoyable?
Thanks!
Hope this helps, I am sure others will chime in with their ideas and habits.

If you are going to head up a little and off the beach, definetly air down to no more than 15psi. There is a big difference in 15psi and 20psi. The dump and fill station is one block north of Grand Ave right off of Hwy 1 or you can pay $30 and get dumped from a truck on the beach. Also, if you don't have a compressor, the guy charges $1 a tire to refill up. Air down once you are down on the beach. Have fun, I will be there myself...

The dump/fresh water/ice and firewood company that comes out on the beach is YO Banana Boy. Here is thier info. To Phone #(805) 709-6564Address:791 Price St. #111 Pismo Beach, CA 93449 E-Mail:ybbmail@cwnet.com
The $1 tire fill guy is kind of a joke, long lines and slow compressor. I just take my compressor with me and air up when I leave.
The dump station is 1 block north of Grand(as said above), turn left and it will be on the left side. I'm not sure about potable water but have heard that it's there.
Just remember not to ride up the beach past post#2 and have all the fun you want out on the dunes but keep it safe & slow on the beach. Other than that have a blast. Wish I was going.

If you pull empty (water) and get there late you can pull wrong way on Le Sage Dr. (just north of Grand Ave) near the water and with a 25' hose fill up with no problem. Cops and rangers won't hassle you.

And look at the small trail to the "potable" water... Beware there is also "non-potable" water there too.

For fire wood call 805.547.1903. He's got a wood lot off of Price Canyon at SR-227 (Broad St). It beats $7-8 for 4-5 logs.

I always take some cones and caution tap to circle off my camp(no I'm not one of those who circles off 2 acres just around my trailer.).I don't like people riding right next to my kids .
