When the temps on 1-5 are over a hundred, say 105-112, we run the propane generator and A/C for the dog as well. If it was just me, I would not, as I'm too cheap.

Although we live in the northeast and don't need to often, we do run the genny and coach A/C while driving on warm humid sunny days. We have had a few more of those type of days this summer than usual. Never in the 100+ degrees tho... I like to think of it as a great way to exercise the genny. When we arrive at our destination, the RT is nice and cool. I just sit back there in the rear lounge and relax a bit.

Does anyone here on the forum have a rear air conditioner/heater unit mounted on the floor that runs off the engine while you are driving.

Probably not what you're looking for, but I had a 197X Toyota FJ-40 Land Cruiser (the orginal ~Jeep-type body style) with an OEM rear heater... It was just a little housing on the floor with a hot-water coil and a blower, controlled by a dash switch, with hoses to & from the engine.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. We are not looking for such a unit. We already have one under the back box seat by the wheelwell. We love this unit as it keeps the rear nice and cool in the summer and in the winter it will heat up a 5 gallon blue water jug with the air vent hot enough to use for a shower.

Yes I installed a rear A/C unit on my LeSharo, since it is very spacious it requires a high capacity a/c to keep cool especially here in Florida. Running both a/c units keeps it cool during the hottest days.

They're mostly gas - only LP on diesels (Sprinter based)
