Just wondering for those who have a Jayco 17C, what type and size of sewer hose they purchased that actually fit in the sewer hose compartment???

As the owner of a 2008 19H, I can only offer you an opinion based upon our trailer. The sewer hose compartment looks cool, but only until you try to use it. I realized this when purchasing the unit, and carry mine in a 5 gal bucket with the lid on. I would imagine that any RV sewer hose will indeed fit in the compartment, but that would have to be without the end connectors attached to the hose. I didn't want to deal with that, and I wasn't quite sure where that slinky would be dripping, so I went with the 5 gallon bucket. Many have also added PVC tubes etc ...
Maybe this is one of those places where the engineers, and the real world had a disconnect.

I have the 17C and use BlueLine sewer hose 5ft long. The hose adapter (part that connects to trailer) stays on the hose all the time. No issues on my side, just wash the hose out good. But I also live in the desert, which dries everything out very quickly.

I attached a 4' external sewer hose tube to the back of my 26L, because I didn't like the idea of a sewer hose sitting in a tube inside the camper. As it turned out, the tube that was supplied with the camper was too short for my 15' RinoFLEX hose anyway. I extended the sewer hose tube of the 26L (using non-perforated 4" drain pipe), but use it to house our fishing rods while traveling instead of for its original purpose.
After dumping a couple of times, I got fed up with the fact that you have to remove the fittings to get the hose in the tube (and then reattach every time you dump). So, I no longer use the tube at all - the hoses just sit in a Tupperware tub, with fittings attached, and travel in the back of the truck.

I'm not sure how long the hose is that I use, but it does fit into the hose compartment. The sewer connection however does not fit. I keep that in a plastic baggie and attach when needed. I have discovered that if you just rinse the hose and fittings out real well after use you wont have an issue storing in the hose compartment.
