I am considering a 2001 BF 3000 with slide out, but the owner says that the slide is stuck in... any ideas on the subject ? also I wanted to know if you can enter the tc with the slide retracted. (& no I will not haul it on my 1/2 ton) anything else I should look out for on this specific model ?

I don't know what kind of mechanism Bigfoot uses on their slide. I had a shear pin break on one of my slides on my 5vr. The motor would run & the gear wouldn't turn to move the slide in & out. Now I carry extra pins when pulling the 5vr. No slide on my Bigfoot.

In 2001 Bigfoot had two slideout models, a30c10.11sl had the slide on the drivers side and the30c10,10sl had the slide on the passenger side I believe they used a happi jack slide system but I'm not sure if that is correct info on the slide system. The 10.11 slideout is completly usable wih the slide in with no loss of floor space. You do lose overhead storage in the booth area.

I just knew you were going to put that on your 1/2 ton. You did get new SuperSprings after all.

You can easily use it with the slid in,mines a 2004 and on the drivers side and has access panels under the bench seats to get to the motor. Bought mine used in 2006 and haven't had any problems with the slid. There's a safety cutoff switch below the waterheater/ closet access from an inside door and the regular slid switch is below the sink facing the slid. Maybe he bumped the safety switch? I've done it by items tipping over on it.I would lube the seals around it before trying to open it,maybe run something along it to make sure they don't stick.

If I had a chance to speak to the owner....I would not ask questions here.

Well, I feel there are more issues with those 3000 series, I made a very low offer to buy unseen... waiting for the answer, I saw 2 of them on the Bigfoot owners Forum, in the 10000 $ range, they seem to have a hard time selling them.

Neverhappy ... the 3000 series that have been and are on the Bigfoot Club site were mfg in the 1990s and are non slide 10.11 units
