for us, the "shoebox" feeling of a regular TT wasn't for us. we liked sleeping under canvas, since we were previous tent and popup campers.
but when we saw our first hybrid, we saw that we could have the amenities of a TT but still keep the "camping" feel with the canvas/vinyl bunk ends. they give you at least 2 queen beds without taking up floorspace. and if the weather is bad, you keep the bunk ends closed and "turtle" and sleep on the dinette and sofa.
we would have felt cut off from the outdoors that we love, since we camp mainly in state parks, in a regular TT. having a hybrid gives us the best of both types.

Your GC will pull a nice sized HTT or TT. The biggest factor with your TV is wheelbase. The GC has a shorter wheelbase, and that can limit you on the length of a TT. If I were you, I would go for an HTT. It will give you a lot of room when setup and not a lot to tow. Good luck!
