My trailer has been in storage for about 4 months, I took it out today to do the usual PM on it and when I rolled out the awning I notice a bulge about 2 feet long and 6 or 7 inches wide. The bulge was water between the layers of vinyl, I made a pin hole to let it drain and the taped it closed. I been RVing since 1970 and this is the first time I ever found water not on the awning but in the awning.

Sounds like it is an A&E with a bad bad case of delamination of material

Yep - my awning does the same. I found that at the top of the rolled up awning there was several small holes... I guess it's either dry rot, something scraped the awning (tree limbs) or critters.
I did the same thing you did - small hole and let it drain. Then I rolled back up and covered the holes with Eternabond tape. That should hold until I get new fabric.

I hope that you poked that hole in from the bottom side.

Yep - rolled it out and left one end all way down while raising the other end. All of the water collected in the lower end making a large bubble; that's where i poked the hole on the under side.

My awning on my old trailer (A&E) developed mold between the layers within 1 year and was replaced under warranty.
