Have a 2003 motorhome with about 38K miles. Front tires seem to be wearing funny. Alternating tread ribs are worn more than the adjacent one giving a high low effect across the tire face. More pronounced on the drivers side. Is this an alignment issue? Rears are still OK. Can I replace just the front's?

it sounds like a problem I had. I was told it was a result of overloading vs the load range rating of the tire. I replaced two front to higher load range and they seem to be fine now. Have you weighed your front axle and compared it to the laod rating of your tires. I read on a post today that Sears now handles the G-670's for a very good price.
see link below on tire wear patterns.

Above post implies it but yes, no doubt, you can replace front only. Ford doesn't recommend rotating the rear tires, just leave them in place.
If the front tires are in fact overloaded with respect to their load range, I'd have to ask if the axle itself was overloaded. A manufacturer wouldn't put less tire on it than the axle could handle. Of course somebody could have swapped the tires down to an inadequate range. Have you weighed the coach as ready for a trip? At all four corners? Can you show it to an experienced tire person and have s/him "read" the wear pattern? Alignment might be needed. Again, should be aligned when loaded as for a trip.

Are you talking Class A or C? How do you overload "front" tires? Class A you got the driver/passinger, generator, Class C you got an overhead with bed or manufactor entertainment center. Check your alignment and balance before you waste your money.
