I saw a ad on TV last night announcing all remaining '08 Dodge Rams are priced at 40% below MSRP. Come one, come all.

Thats going to mean my use '07 won't be worth much at all! I guess I'll be keeping it for a good, long while.

It could be worse: you could have a Ford or Chevy and be stuck with them for a good, long while...

Excellent point. And I did not buy my truck for an investment, I knew it would be worth less the second I drove it off the lot. I am hoping I get 10-15 years out of the truck. I also got the gas engine because it came with a lifetime warranty. The CTD did not.

I seriously doubt they will sell any truck at 40% off of real MSRP. But maybe I'm wrong. So that means a NEW 4x4 Quad Cab Diesel long bed that lists for $51k would be just a hair over $30? I don't think so!

Actually, the Dodge website says 40% off, but on the 1500.

Ford dealers around here are offering $15k off, Dodge dealer $20k off their pickups, though not sure if light or heavy pickups. If you are considering just the slightest buying a new truck and are not burdened with the trade-in issue, now is the time to bounce on a purchase. Just like the house market, now may be the best time to buy.

I have been truck shopping the last two weeks (my old truck was totalled).

I beat the hell out my local dealers. Here is the best deals I could find:

2008 Dodge 3500 SLT Quad Cab Lonestar DRW 4x4 6.7L auto
MSRP= $46,525
Best Deal= $35,682

-$10,843 or 23% off.

2008 Dodge 1500 SLT Quad Cab Lonestar 4x4 Hemi auto
MSRP= $37,965
Best Deal= $25,840

-$12,125 or 32% off.

I am going to purchase the Hemi 1500 QC.

2008 Dodge 1500 QC SB 4x4 Hemi Auto 3.92
2006 Chevy 1500 EC SB 4.8L auto 3.23
1994 Chevy 350 auto
Looking for a small TT to continue RV'ing

Curious why, as a rv'er towing a fiver, you would go from a heavy duty diesel pickup to a gasoline fueled half ton. Purchase price?

Read the fine print. "UP TO" 40% meaning most deals are not %40 off.. They pull the same thing around here for several years now. Just a sales gimmick to get you to come in.
