The C-6500 and up are a much larger chassis. Park the two chassis side by side and the difference is obvious. Where the C-5500 has one step up to get in the cab the C-6500 requires two.
The engines are different - inline 6 cylinder in the C-6500. The transmission is also a heavier duty model.
Tires are 22.5 instead of the 19 inch on the C-5500. The fuel tanks are one or two saddle tanks vs the rear mounted inside the frame tanks on the C-5500.
