There are some things to understand about a move from a class 5 like the C-5500 to a class 6 like the C-6500 if you are comparing the current chassis.

The C-6500 and up are a much larger chassis. Park the two chassis side by side and the difference is obvious. Where the C-5500 has one step up to get in the cab the C-6500 requires two.

The engines are different - inline 6 cylinder in the C-6500. The transmission is also a heavier duty model.

Tires are 22.5 instead of the 19 inch on the C-5500. The fuel tanks are one or two saddle tanks vs the rear mounted inside the frame tanks on the C-5500.

Motorhomes using a class 6 or class 7 chassis have been available for several years. Most of the truck conversion motorhomes manufacturers have offered a Freightliner M2 chassis as one of their options.

$20,000 more for the 6500 sounds like a lot. I wonder if it would need the same upgrades as the 5500.

Does anyone know what the price premium is for the International chassis versus the Kodaik in the Gulfstream line, say under an Endura?

That did not come out right. I was trying to highlight the part where he said the price premium was $20,000, not delete it. Sorry.
