I have a 93 Fleetwood Southwind I'm 'redecorating.' I need to relocate the rear cabinet/shelf unit sitting on the floor just below the back window. Anyone know the best way to 'disconnect' it?

There were two screws poking in from outside--I didn't see the heads, so I just snapped them off. But it feels like more is holding it, and I don't want to chew up the wall.

Why am I doing this? Oh, just because I'd like to fit a queen bed back there instead of the two twins, so I can better.

Thanks!

If it's like my Terry 5th wheel I had there's probably staples from the outside holding it. Unless you tear off the outer skin there's not other way except prying it.

I agree that it's probably attached from the outside. So you might have to pry it off the wall, cut the protruding screws off, and make yourself a nice headboard whatever size you need to hide any damage.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!! I had to move a floor cabinet in my rig too, and found that there were small brackets on the inside holding it to the floor. Is there any "give" since you removed the screws? If there are any shelves in the cabinet, try removing the shelf material and see if there are more screws hiding in the framework of the shelf. Good luck on the remodel! Check out my sig line for remodel ideas. And again, welcome to the forum!

I believe Fleetwoods of that vintage had cabinetry built in-place. You'll have to take it apart by removing piece by piece. They used glue and small brads in addition to ordinary-looking sheet metal screws. The suggestion of wrecking-away and following with a new headboard is best.
