Just a note for those wanting to change their own oil and do not know how to reset the light. Just turn on the ignition key and quickly press the gas pedal five times.

I have had my oil changes 4 times since buying MH. Not one of the places knew how to reset the indicator. Driving in the mountains shortly after a oil change. The light came on. Thought I was in trouble until I found out what the light indicated and how to reset it in the owners manual.

The manual says to slowly press the gas pedal 5 times to reset after changing oil. I have found that you have to press the gas pedal 5 times before the chimes stop, that is fast not slow.

It must be different for each year. The 2004 & 5 manual says:
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change your engine oil and filter based on vehicle use. Anytime your oil is changed, reset the system so it can calculate when the next oil change is required. If a situation occurs where you change your oil prior to a change engine oil light being turned on, reset the system.

To reset the Engine Oil Life System, do the following:

1. Turn the ignition key to RUN with the engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within 10 seconds.
3. If the change engine oil light flashes for five seconds, the system is resetting. Turn the key to OFF.

If the change engine oil light comes back on when you start your vehicle, the Engine Oil Life System has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
