I buy with the employee price all the time thanks to my in-laws. The fleet dept has a book that shows MSRP, dealer invoice, and employee price. The employee price is generally below what the dealer paid, the dealer gets their money from an account set up for employee purchases. The bad thing about this offer for me is as a member of the GM family, I get the employee price along with any incentive offered the public. So when you guys were getting $5000 off or 0% financing, I was getting all that plus the discount price. We also get employee price on any extras including extended warranty. Whenever they offer this price to the public they eliminate all or most of the other incentives which means it cost GM family memebers more. Oh well, I got my "08" before this incentive so I did fine.

Ditto: I prefer it when they have rebates/discounts. My son got his Silverado for over 15,000 off.

The true GMS price should include a discount on the options. So, GMS should be less than taking the GMS on a base vehicle plus standard cost on options.

As AVid mentioned, the GMS price is called out on the invoice. If I am not mistaken, the invoice should show at least three prices: MSRP, GM Supplier pricing (invoice cost?) and GMS.

GMS on the truck in my signature was $6400 under MSRP.

I don't know about you folks in other states, But here in my area of Idaho, the dealers all have what they call a DOC fee that is discretely tacked on at the last of the paper work. This is one reason , I Think to avoid buying from a dealer. These fees run from 199 to over 300 dollars. I bet the employees pricing doesn't include these fees. Hoeever, I have read that the Oregon legislature has restricted the Oregon dealers to a 49 dollar DOC fee.

ask about invoice price. I buy all my trucks from local dealer at invoice plus $500 or less. check to see which is cheaper, invoice price or employee price. They are still making good money at either with factory incentives. So don't let them kid you. I have even heard of dealer giving invoice plus $50.

they are making good Money???????? Not as much as the state makes on the sales tax and the registration fees year after year... GM is hurting....Let them make a profit for crying out loud....

Thanks guys I did go to the gm site and the only price they give you is on a vehicle with no options. I took that and added the full cost of all the option and came very close to what they call employee pricing. Will see what happens on Saturday, the last day of the month.

Our family bought two vehicles recently using the GM employee plan through my father-in-law. I just went to the link for the GM Employee pricing to everyone, and the prices given are the same that we paid through an actual GM employee.

Definitely carefully search the GM website. When I bought my 2008 F250, I found a couple more discounts on the Ford website that my dealer "didn't know about", along with the "employee pricing". I found the "invoice price" on the internet, many sites supposedly have that info (Edmunds.com, for example).

I will buy an extended warranty if necessary to at least cover the vehicle while I am making payments on it. A terrible feeling is to have to pay for repairs on a vehicle you don't even own yet!

I hate buying new vehicles. Once you buy it, drive it off the lot, don't look back, and enjoy it. Don't drive yourself crazy by continuing to look at prices after you buy.

The employee pricing is really just supplier pricing isn't it? Its not the actual price a GM employee would get it for. I was down yesterday looking at a Chevy 1 Ton D/A and the salesman said it was supplier pricing and an actual employee would be 1K or more less with real employee pricing.

I get supplier pricing through my work all the time, so I will just hold off until I sell my Dodge 2500 and then wait for the good rebates and or financing specials later on.

Supplier price was invoice minus a few hundred. Employee price was several thousand less than that.

AAA, Costco, etc. were invoice plus 500. This was according to the fleet manager.
