Taken the family up to WV to the Hatfield-McCoy Trails system, we are looking forward to a good time. Has anyone been, any issues I should be ready for?

We really haven't been able to ride like we did in SOCAL, army sent us to Fort Benning GA, not to many riding areas here. It will be a 10 plus hour drive. (Diesel $$$$$$$$$) What some of us will do for the sake of family fun!

I've got some friends that go twice a year, they have found it great...no hassle from the locals...even when they took the quads to get food/ drink at nearby estab. as long as they behave. Enjoy, many seem to be!!!

I'd love to to, alas its a bit to far to drive. Have a good time and share some photos when you get back!

"Light bulb moment"

Let's plan a RV.net OFF ROAD RIDE.

Next spring would be good.

Stay in the town of Man (look under accomodations - Trailriders Lodge). If you can't find it, pm me and I will look it up. We're planning a trip in October. Make sure you have helmets and eye protection if not full face. Check regulations for riding age if you have children. $50.00 for pass to ride the trails.

Trail from Man to Gilbert is about 35 miles long. Nice trail.

Fuel will be more expensive in WV. Fill up in Virginia before crossing the border. Renos in Logan is a nice family restraunt.

We stayed in Gilbert @ Larry Joe Harless Community Center. It was $20 a night, water & elect. Very close to fuel, food and you can shower, use the pool, gym, and catch a movie at the same place. We had a load of fire wood delivered, people were great and I would go back there for the convience of everything. Also, the riding was great, alot of bikes on the weekend and not many people riding during the week.
Have fun and be safe!
