....unfortunately, not all of them are particularly dumb. Some even manage to get elected to public positions, some are entrenched in large corporations, some have shingles hung outside of buildings, and many are successfully spending huge sums to influence even larger sums........all while we giggle at the lesser "profits"........

Second guess - Defense Attorney?
Nope. I guess another hint is called for: think about how the person just went back in the house as if he had done nothing wrong.....

One of the best stories I ever heard was given to me at the FBI academy in Quantico. Seems some enterprising robbers decided to do a armed robbery of a bank on wall street on payroll friday. So they come in, show their guns, fire a shot and announce "This is a robbery". Virtually every customer in the bank draws their service revolver on them. Seems that the bank was next door to the FBI NY office.

Let's see..he's working on the case but talks about it and likes to poke fun of others stupidity...Hhmm... if he posted here and pointed out his occupation with every other post I would guess he's the police dispatcher.

....a few folks I used to know did this.......

They brought certain products into the states that were frowned on by the authorities. at the time, customs inspectors and certain airport people made very little money. The folks would pick out one who looked approachable, after observing for a while, ofeer that person 3 months salary to let a certain individual through without searching them. Half now, half after successful entry.

The first time through, the individual would be clean, just to test the inspector. If all went well, the guy got his money, the next day the real individual would come through. The inspector got more money. Once a month, the individual would come through, the the product entered, all was well. I cannot recall them ever being stopped. this went on for 3 or 4 years.
