Hang on to your hat in the Houston and Galveston areas, IKE is drawing a bead on you.
Round two is now entering the ring. After the fiasco with Gustav, it may be hard to get people to evacuate. Good luck to those that are in IKEs path.

If you listen to the news media it will take out the entire southern 1/2 of the U.S. Which is a bit odd since they don't know where it will reach land yet.
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

Great and I just took a job in Ohio leaving behind my wife and two kids (1 & 13 years) and she's twelve miles from the coast. Anybody here mind swinging down and boarding up my windows?

If I were closer, I surely would houtrz.
We have windows to board here as well. I don't wish it on you, but hopefully we don't get it again either. We took a direct hit from Katrina, so we really don't need Gustav just yet. I am just now getting my business back to almost full swing. 8(

We're staying. I can't get my folks to leave (my Dad is just a tad bit stubborn in his old age, lol) so we'll either hunker down at the shop or go to my folks - anywhere except the rv. FWIW, I've only noticed one camper who pulled out yesterday.

Way too much time to predict the where. The where damage isn't know until after it hits anyway. We always need more rain, so I'm looking forward to it from that standpoint.

These headline grabbing "know it all" talking heads that call themselves reporters.. Don't know their collective buttocks from a hole in the ground..
Today on the way home they were saying the storm was shifting more to the East,, now just an hour later,, West.. Our local guy stated the most honest report, "I don't have a clue yet,, too early and too far away."

That poor guy will probably get fired for telling the truth.

That's the report our guys here are also telling us. We have some of the very best and they are telling us that they don't have a clue...yet.
Then they show us where all of the computer programs forcast the storm will go.
If you live around the Gulf, know our best thoughts and prayers are headed your way.
