I still gotta take it. It's been a little cloudy and I of course caught the only rainstorm in Collier County so the Bike is a little dirty.

Rhonda, The pics as promised

Sorry about it being a little dirty. She needs a bath just like it's owner.

Woo Hoooooo!! Ridin' by yourself!!! Outstanding!
Keep doing it, Rhonda. That Sporty and you are made for each other.
Next step, you lead the rides.
And don't forget, you and I have a date to ride the Blue Ridge together. Just us girls, your Sporty, and my Fat Boy.

Rhonda, I hope this doesn't hijack your topic, but I thought I'd share our next ride.
On Wednesday Sept 24th we plan to ride with a few other couples from Oregon to Reno for "Street Vibrations", a motorcycle even. I've never been so this will be my first experience with this event.
Saturday we will leave and head for Vegas and stay at our house there for a few days. Then we are off, just the two of us on a ride on as much of old Route 66 as we can. Well at least until New Mexico. We don't plan to go all the way to Chicago. But we have planned a few stops along the ride. We figure about a weeks worth of riding and then heading back to Vegas.
We will leave the bikes in Vegas and take the car back to Oregon. October in Oregon is about the end of decent riding weather. Then right after Christmas we will move to Vegas for the winter and have our bikes already there for us.
We just got back a week ago from a 2200 mile ride thru northern California, all the way across Nevada, up thru Utah then back toward home thru part of Idaho and eastern Oregon. It was such a great ride, that we immediately planned the Route 66 ride to see more of the southern parts.
Again, I hope this doesn't hijack your topic but I would love to hear about some other rides if anyone cares to share.
Moderator, would it be okay to start a "share your motorcycle ride" topic? Maybe we could all NOT bash certain brands of bikes and keep a ride topic going?

Not trying to rain on your parade, I think riding a bike would be fun. Just saying that you need to be very careful. Being adventurous and being dead aren't very far apart if you're not watching out for the other guy.
Riding a motorcycle IS fun. Been riding since 1978. I'm on my 7th motorcycle. Saving up for my 8th. All these years of riding I have learned, you have to ride like you are invisible. Always know what is going on around you. Always watch out for yourself. Taking a Motorcycle Safety Course, like Rhonda did is a smart thing to do. Wearing a good helmet, gloves, leather or tex-jacket, leather or tex-pants or leather chaps, and boots over the ankle are always a good idea.
So many roads, so little time.

Oh my gosh, that is one of my DREAM Rides to be able to ride as much of Route 66 that is still left!! I want to go!!! So many roads...so little time!!! Your coming rides sound absolutely awesome!! I can tell...you're just like me and think of riding as some spiritual experience. There is so much joy in planning a ride, then actually doing it, then writing or telling about it, then remembering it. And no, I don't think it was hijacking my thread at all. Anything about a motorcycle is welcome on my thread!! Thank you so much for sharing. It put a smile on my face.
Edit: Wow..I didn't see the phrase "so many roads, so little time" until after I posted this reply. Didn't know I was stealing the previous replyers line. It's so true though!
