We just returned from our 3 day weekend camping trip. When we left home on Friday and switched the fridge to propane I noticed that I could not hear it running just outside of the vent like I usually can. But, both the "on" and the "gas" light were on on the control panel so I did not worry about it. When we got to the campground and plugged up the electric I noticed that it wasn't as cold as usual, around 40 degrees, but it finally got colder the next day after it ran on electric.

When we got home earlier today and got everything unloaded from the fridge and it warmed up to about 50 degrees, I turned the fridge back on gas but something is not right. Both the gas and power lights are on and I have a flame in the burner box but it is not cooling. I do not have it plugged up to electric but the battery is fully charged. I have tried to call Norcold but I guess they are closed for the holiday.

The trailer is a 2007 Dutchmen and the fridge is a Norcold model N61X.

Any suggestions?

I don't have any answer to this problem, but I am curious as to what this might be. My sister has a Norcold in her Class A and the exact same thing happened to them on their last trip. They tried everything and nothing worked for them. Looks like they may have to replace it and its out of warranty.... I'm hoping someone can come up with something here as to what the problem is. Good luck...

I had the same problem with our TT. A guy told me to take a air hose and blow out the area under the refrigerator, by taking the panel off on the outside. I also used a shop vac to clean out what the air moved around. I did the same thing to the water heater. That made it lite a lot better.

I am only making a guess. I think your battery has to be working in oder for your fridge to run on propane. I think it has to have that current to enable it to switch from house to propane and doing the same when you leave the camp ground and unplug from their service. If that is the case, check your battery.
