The best way I know to help you help you decide is this:

Go and spend about 1 to 1/2 hours in each one. Pretend to "camp" - basically pack it. Where will the bbq grill go? dishes? Pots and pans? Towels? Camp chairs, outdoor table, screen room, coleman stove? Clothes for extended trips - socks? Shoes? is there hanging room or shelving to help accomdate clothing for longer trips? Games? Toaster oven and electric skillet or griddle? silverware, cooking utensils, dish towels, foil, zip lock bags? Canned goods and other staples? Coffee pot? Fresh water hose, sewer hose and other hook up necessities. Pretend to cook a meal - what's the counter space like? Can you cook taco meat and have room to chop the veggies at the same time or will you have to depend on the stove top cover as "counter space"? "use" the restroom - can you sit on the toilet and still close the door? Can you shower without being a contortionist? If someone's in the shower and someone wants to brush their teeth will this be an issue (we found out doing this that we preferred the bathroom sink just outside the bathroom for this reason and it was the correct choice for us). After an hour does your head hurt from the color and design of the fabric (trust me, some do

Now, it's raining outside. Is there a place for everyone to go without everyone crawling all over each other? If you want to read and your SO wants to watch TV - is there the ability for one to that without bothering the other? Can everyone find a place to sit AND watch the movie or does it require that 6 people share a couch made for 2 to see the tv?

Almost can guarantee that by the time your done doing this on both those trailers, one of them will stand out more as being "packing" and "camping" friendly and will feel more like home for you and your family.

IMO this is the best way to decide between 2 trailers.

THAT'S GREAT ADVICE and now looking back on it is something we did when shopping for our new trailer w/o even thinking about it. One addition is to make sure you can get into things like the refer, bath, etc. that you might need when on the road and the slides are in.

Great advice thus far! We spent a good hour in the Sydney 310BHS and pretended to camp and it was nice. The Sierra 351BHT by forest river now really has my attention! She is big but I have been towing my whole life and there are no worries there. They are pulling this unit from the factory for my inspection. Once again we will spend all needed time to feel her out. If she is not the one then we already have a deal on the Sydney 310BHS.

We have a 2006 321BHT and love the space. I love the added area of the 351BHT. Wish they had this model in 2006.

Spent last Thanksgiving camping - rainy and cold. The space was well used and needed. I converted the one small lower bunk to a full. Kids can bring a friend each and we still have room on the hide-a-bed or with a queen size air matress between the two bunk slideouts. We love the layout and have not had any towing issues (2003 Dodge Dually Cummins Automatic).

Watch out for the bunk room drawers opening during transport. I destroyed a drawer and had to re-attach some of the facia around the slideout.

Check the DOT date on the tires. When we bought ours, the tires were already two years old.

Is Forest River now offering a two year factory warranty?

Great floor plan. Good luck and happy camping.

Well I think she is either enroute or almost enroute to the dealer. I look forward to seeing pictures of her and hopefully heading over next weekend to inspect and if we likey towing her home. Does anyone have this model? (351BHS) I hear good things about this model and hope she is the right one...If not then I will go buy the Sydney 310 BHS..

Just know, you probably won't be towing it home that same day. Usually, you agree on price, sign contracts and what not and make a date a week or two down the line for the PDI - where they test the water tanks and make sure everything is working. Then they take you through it all and show you how everything works. This will be your chance to correct anything you see needing corrections, asking your questions and learning how everything works. You will then sign final papers and pay the balance owed or the whole thing if not already done and then off you go.

Well I was sent a few pictures from the factory and due to the storms there was a delay in getting her on the road. Should arrive to dealer tomorrow then we will drag our Laredo over and if all goes well bring home the big one Sunday.
