is there a machine that cuts the cobs from the stalks and if so what is the name of the machine??
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in
a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, loudly proclaiming---WOW WHAT A
RIDE!!!

Is this what you're looking for?
A corn harvester combine assembly including a self-propelled combine with internal corn processing apparatus, a corn head for removing ear corn from planted corn stalks in a field and a corn removal attachment selectively mountable between the combine and the corn head to cause ear corn to be removed from the corn head and stored in a separate location without being processed by the combine in an ear corn harvesting mode of operation.

Go to You tube and type in "corn picker" and you can watch them in action. Or come to my house and take a ride on one.

Not sure, though, if you can tow any of them flat behind your RV.

Actually both answers are correct. A Combine (Combination harverster/threasher) will do it but then it normally "Shells" the corn (removes the kernals from the cob)
A corn picker, which may or may not be a Husker as well, snaps the ears of corn off the stalk and (optionally) removes the husk
Have worked with all the above
